for the old albums yes, because the original master will be in
the form of analog tape reels. so you definitely lose something
when converting them to digital.
however, for most modern recordings, the original master is
actually a digital audio tape, so re-converting them into analog
and pressing them in vinyl format sort of defeats the purpose.
